History
Our Diocese began with Bishop Gerth in 1995, his feeling was that the mainline denomination had lost its way in the ordination of people not called of God. Many Bishops felt that way, some formed large groups with many churches, others felt that the hierarchy of the middle ages and forward was unscriptural and unnecessary.
Bishop Gerth did a wonderful job building a ministry in Fort Worth with likeminded people. Afterwards our second Bishop, John Marshall moved much of the work of Bishop Gerth to Dallas and began clergy appointments in senior care facilities. During his bishopric, their were ministries in three different counties in north Texas and one in California. Bishop Marshall also had a ministry in Dallas for the support and training of ministers. Bishop Marshall served from 2010 to 2018, then took a position in the Old Catholic Church.
Bishop Black came to the Diocese in 2012 serving in many different positions and had started ministries in Carrollton, and Ellis County while assisting the start of a ministry in Garland with another Priest. Bishop Black has been in ministry since 1985 starting and assisting new churches in the Intermountain West and in Texas, he was consecrated Bishop in 2018 replacing Bishop Marshall.
Sadly, as covid closed doors to the senior care facilities, the ministers of the diocese left to find positions elsewhere, a Mission started in Ellis County became the focus for the Diocese. In early 2021 an opportunity came to purchase a historic building that had been an Anglican Church. The previous Rector had become ill and unable to perform services closing the doors in 2020, the small congregation left to join another ministry.
The property was purchased in mid 2021 and Consecrated Grace Anglican Church. Bishop Black, his wife Karen, and some wonderful new members from Waxahachie have taken upon themselves to renovate the buildings and rebuild a congregation that the city might have a strong Anglican presence. We encourage you to drop by and visit, this could be your new church home.
